CPU comparison

Ryzen 5 5600GT vs 7600: keep AM4 or move to AM5?

Compare the Ryzen 5 5600GT and 7600 as complete platform choices: existing DDR4, motherboard BIOS, integrated graphics and the parts an AM5 move replaces.

Are you keeping a working AM4 board and DDR4 memory?

If those parts already meet your needs, examine an AM4 reuse path before buying a whole platform. The 5600GT needs an exact CPU support check even on an AM4 board. The 7600 moves the list to AM5 and DDR5, so compare the CPU, board and memory together. Neither processor is an automatic upgrade without a task your current system cannot handle.

Choose around your situation

01

Consider the 5600GT for a supported AM4 reuse project

Its integrated graphics can serve a build that does not need a separate graphics card. Keep a suitable board and DDR4 kit after checking firmware and memory support. If you already have a working AM4 CPU and GPU, first establish what replacing the CPU would fix.

02

Consider the 7600 when you are choosing a new platform

Build an AM5 basket around the connections, expansion and workload you need. An existing AM4 board and DDR4 kit do not transfer. A compatible GPU, storage device or case may transfer, but each still needs its own fit and connection check.

Worked decision: an existing B550M Pro4 and DDR4 kit

Suppose your usable parts include an ASRock B550M Pro4 and DDR4 memory. This is a reuse example, not a benchmark or a recommendation to replace a working processor.

  1. For the 5600GT route, ASRock lists P3.20 for this exact board/CPU pair. Check the installed version and the board’s update instructions; arrange a supported update before removing the old CPU if one is needed.

  2. For the 7600 route, add an AM5 motherboard and DDR5 memory to the list. Recheck the cooler mounting kit, front-panel headers and any PCIe or M.2 devices against that board.

  3. Write down what each complete route solves. If the complaint is only a full SSD, neither CPU purchase adds storage. If the existing system already completes the job comfortably, keeping it remains a valid choice.

When to keep what you have

Keep the existing platform when it meets the workload and has no unresolved reliability issue. A different AM4 processor may also be worth researching if integrated graphics are unnecessary; this comparison does not declare the 5600GT the best CPU for every AM4 board.

Checks still to make

  • Exact motherboard model, hardware revision and installed BIOS.
  • Memory generation, supported kit configuration and stable settings.
  • Motherboard display outputs and the intended display connection if no discrete GPU is used.
  • The complete replacement list, including any cooler mounting hardware and adapters.
