ARCTIC P12 PWM PST A-RGB (ACFAN00231A, black single fan)
One fan, two electrical jobs: PWM cooling and separate 5 V addressable lighting.
The black single-fan P12 PWM PST A-RGB is a useful option when the build genuinely needs both cooling and visible lighting. Plan both circuits before chaining several fans. A compatible PWM header does not power the LEDs, and a motherboard’s ordinary RGB socket may be the wrong voltage and pin arrangement.
Consider it when
- A 120 mm mount and a verified three-pin 5 V ARGB connection.
- A build with room in both the fan-current and lighting-current budgets.
Look again when
- A motherboard offering only four-pin 12 V RGB.
- Assuming ACFAN00231A includes the accessories or quantities of a three-pack.

The checks that can change your choice
Calculate motor and LED loads separately
Each motor is specified at 0.11 A on 12 V; lighting adds 0.4 A on 5 V. Sum each chain independently and check both header limits. Never connect the 5 V lighting lead to 12 V RGB.
Set a useful stop policy
The fan supports 200–2000 RPM and stops below 5% PWM. Confirm that your curve keeps essential airflow when required; the LEDs being lit does not prove the motor is turning.
