Noctua NF-A12x25 PWM (brown, single fan)
The original brown 120 mm PWM fan, with padded depth included in the fit check.
NF-A12x25 PWM is a candidate for a conventional unlit 120 mm installation where you want motherboard speed control. This entry is the original brown version, not G2, LS-PWM, 5V or chromax. Confirm the exact fan before carrying over its current, dimensions or speed range to a replacement plan.
Consider it when
- A 12 V, four-pin PWM connection and a verified 120 mm mount.
- A build where the brown finish is acceptable and lighting is unnecessary.
Look again when
- A tight stack that leaves exactly 25 mm without checking the pads.
- A USB or 5 V supply selected because another Noctua variant uses it.

The checks that can change your choice
The padded envelope is 27 mm
The frame is nominally 25 mm deep, but the published overall depth with anti-vibration pads is 27 mm. Include that envelope when a radiator or adjacent graphics card makes every millimetre matter.
A splitter still shares one header
The maximum input current is 0.14 A per fan. Add all connected fans and check the motherboard limit before using a splitter; verify PWM mode and observed speed after connecting the group.
