The decision

The Phantom Spirit 120 EVO combines seven heatpipes with two 120 mm fans and a published 157 mm heatsink height. Its place on a shortlist should be decided with the exact memory and enclosure, then with reliable workload evidence if thermal comparisons matter. Do not inherit dimensions or performance claims from the SE.

Consider it when

  • A roomy air-cooled build with access around the dual tower.
  • Someone comparing complete cooler packages rather than only the heatpipe count.

Look again when

  • A tight case that only clears the shorter SE’s published height.
  • A configuration relying on an assumed RAM clearance taken from another Thermalright model.

The checks that can change your choice

Review the EVO fan arrangement

Check whether the front fan overlaps your modules and how much it must rise. The 157 mm heatsink specification does not account for every memory-driven fan adjustment or every motherboard heatsink layout.

Validate the result under your workload

Keep CPU power limits and room conditions in mind when testing. Fan speed, case intake and sustained CPU load can alter the outcome; this profile does not claim a measured noise or temperature advantage.
