MSI PRO B850M-A WIFI
Newer AM5 connectivity in a smaller tower
The PRO B850M-A WIFI combines micro-ATX dimensions with Wi-Fi 7 and 5 Gb Ethernet. It is worth comparing when those connections are part of the actual plan and an ATX board will not fit. The smaller form factor also reduces the listed M.2 count to two, so a build that needs three internal NVMe drives should compare its alternatives before buying.
Consider it when
- A compact AM5 machine with a fast local network and two-drive storage plan.
Look again when
- You want to keep adding NVMe drives without adapters or a larger case.
The checks that can change your choice
AM5 processors do not provide identical SSD links
M2_1 is Gen5 x4 on the documented configuration but runs at Gen4 with Ryzen 8000. M2_2 is listed as Gen4 x4 and reduces to x2 with Ryzen 8500/8300. Confirm the exact CPU before paying for storage performance the selected link cannot expose.
Prove the complete platform
Find the exact processor in this board’s CPU support list and compare its required BIOS with the installed version. Then check the exact memory kit, occupied slots and front-panel connectors. A matching socket or a published maximum memory capacity is only part of that check.

Check the manufacturer CPU support list and installed BIOS version before buying. Matching socket and DDR generation do not prove CPU support, memory-profile stability, power-delivery suitability, or PCIe/M.2 lane availability.
