Logitech G G305 LIGHTSPEED

A receiver-based wireless mouse with a replaceable AA battery.

The decision

G305 LIGHTSPEED is a practical choice when you want to remove the mouse cable without adding another rechargeable device. Its fit, weight with a battery and six-button layout matter more than the maximum DPI. Choose it knowing that LIGHTSPEED uses the supplied USB receiver; this is not a Bluetooth pairing option for an otherwise receiver-free laptop.

Consider it when

  • A PC with a convenient USB receiver position.
  • A user who prefers replacing an AA battery to charging an internal battery.

Look again when

  • A Bluetooth-only connection plan.
  • A preference for a much lighter mouse without checking the 99 g battery-included weight.

The checks that can change your choice

Keep the receiver with the mouse

Check that the correct receiver is included, particularly with used stock. Position it sensibly for the desk and avoid assuming that a generic Bluetooth adapter replaces the LIGHTSPEED link.

Battery life is conditional

The manufacturer’s up-to-250-hour claim is usage-dependent. Keep a spare battery available, and configure sensitivity and programmable controls for the games or work you actually do rather than treating maximum DPI as better precision.
