ASUS ProArt Display PA279CV

A 27-inch 4K work display whose USB-C connection can simplify a compatible laptop desk.

The decision

PA279CV is a useful shortlist entry when text, layout and a 4K workspace matter more than a high-refresh gaming mode. The USB-C display and charging path can reduce cabling, provided the laptop supports the correct video mode and is comfortable with 65 W power delivery. The ProArt label does not remove the need to manage colour for your actual workflow.

Consider it when

  • A compatible USB-C laptop and a desk oriented around work at 60 Hz.
  • A desktop using HDMI or DisplayPort for a 3840 × 2160 workspace.

Look again when

  • A gaming plan requiring substantially more than 60 Hz.
  • A laptop that needs more than 65 W to sustain its intended workload.

The checks that can change your choice

USB-C must carry DisplayPort Alt Mode

A USB-C-shaped port or charging cable alone does not establish video support. Check the laptop specification and cable, then confirm charging and display operation together under the intended load.

Plan application scaling

At 27 inches, a 4K desktop may need operating-system scaling for comfortable text. Test the applications you use across any mixed-resolution monitors; more pixels are only helpful when the interface remains readable.

USB-C video requires a source and cable supporting DisplayPort Alt Mode. Check that 65 W power delivery meets the connected laptop requirements; this is a 60 Hz display.
