BenQ DesignVue PD3205U

A larger 4K work canvas with laptop charging and host switching built into the plan.

The decision

PD3205U is a purposeful choice for a desk that benefits from a 31.5-inch 4K screen and can accommodate its footprint. Its 60 Hz specification makes the work-oriented tradeoff clear. USB-C power delivery and KVM can simplify a two-computer arrangement, but only when both computers’ video and USB paths are connected correctly.

Consider it when

  • A compatible laptop whose power needs fit within the documented 90 W delivery.
  • Work involving a larger 4K canvas rather than a high-refresh gaming target.

Look again when

  • A shallow desk where the screen would sit too close.
  • Expecting the included mounting arrangement or accessories of the PD3205UA.

The checks that can change your choice

Distinguish PD3205U from PD3205UA

Match the full model when checking the stand, package and installation. Closely named variants should not supply the dimensions or accessories used to plan your desk.

Check video, USB and power separately

USB-C video requires DisplayPort Alt Mode and a suitable cable. For KVM, connect the other host’s USB upstream route as required; then confirm that switching the screen also transfers keyboard and mouse control.

Published specifications
