MSI MAG 274QRF QD E2
A QHD gaming and laptop-sharing display with different HDMI and USB-C paths.
MAG 274QRF QD E2 is useful when a 1440p gaming PC shares a desk with a compatible laptop. Its KVM and USB-C charging can make that arrangement more practical, but they need the correct upstream connections. Choose the E2 specifically; specifications from the earlier MAG274QRF-QD are not interchangeable.
Consider it when
- A QHD gaming PC and a laptop supporting USB-C DisplayPort Alt Mode.
- A user who can make use of keyboard and mouse switching between two hosts.
Look again when
- Expecting 180 Hz over the HDMI input.
- A laptop requiring more than the documented 65 W charging budget.
The checks that can change your choice
180 Hz depends on the input
DisplayPort and USB-C support up to 180 Hz at 2560 × 1440, while HDMI supports up to 144 Hz. Match the PC output and cable to the mode you want instead of reading only the headline rate.
KVM needs a USB data path
Map both computers’ video and USB upstream connections before buying cables. Test switching with the actual keyboard and mouse; video arriving at the panel does not prove that USB devices are connected to the same host.
Published specifications
27-inch Rapid IPS with quantum dots; 2560 × 1440; up to 180 Hz via DisplayPort or USB-C; HDMI up to 144 Hz; USB-C power delivery up to 65 W; KVM.
