GIGABYTE B850 AORUS ELITE WIFI7 (rev. 1.x)

Three-drive AM5 expansion with revision-specific evidence

The decision

The B850 AORUS ELITE WIFI7 is an ATX alternative when three NVMe positions and onboard Wi-Fi 7 match the build. Its revision label matters: the support page must correspond to the board you actually receive. Compare the location and CPU dependence of the SSD sockets with other three-drive boards before judging them solely by chipset or maximum PCIe generation.

Consider it when

  • An AM5 tower with three planned NVMe drives and a checked rev. 1.x board.

Look again when

  • You expect identical CPU-connected storage bandwidth from every Ryzen APU.

The checks that can change your choice

Match the revision and APU lane table

For the recorded rev. 1.x, M2A_CPU reaches Gen5 with Ryzen 7000/9000 but Gen4 with Ryzen 8000. M2B_CPU is limited to x2 with Phoenix 2. M2C_SB is chipset-connected. Verify the exact CPU family and shared chipset traffic for simultaneous transfers.

Prove the complete platform

Find the exact processor in this board’s CPU support list and compare its required BIOS with the installed version. Then check the exact memory kit, occupied slots and front-panel connectors. A matching socket or a published maximum memory capacity is only part of that check.

Published specifications

AM5; B850; ATX 305 x 244 mm; four DDR5 slots, up to 256 GB; three M.2 slots; four SATA 6Gb/s ports; Wi-Fi 7.

Manufacturer groups this product as rev. 1.x; audio differs by PCB revision. Verify the revision printed on the delivered board. Listed M.2 sockets are PCIe, not M.2 SATA. Memory profiles, CPU support and BIOS require separate checks. SATA drives require suitable case bays and cables.
