GIGABYTE B650 EAGLE AX (rev. 1.0/1.1)
Three SSD positions, including one deliberately narrower link
The B650 EAGLE AX is worth comparing when a full-size AM5 build needs three onboard NVMe positions without selecting a more elaborate chipset. The revision and socket labels are important: the middle CPU-connected SSD link is not automatically the faster choice simply because it comes directly from the processor. Place each drive according to its bandwidth and workload.
Consider it when
- An AM5 tower that uses a slower extra SSD primarily for capacity.
Look again when
- You need three independent x4 SSD links for simultaneous heavy transfers.
The checks that can change your choice
M2P_CPU is x2 even with Ryzen 7000 or 9000
The recorded rev. 1.0/1.1 specification gives M2P_CPU a Gen4 x2 link. M2A_CPU can be Gen5 x4 with the appropriate processor, while M2C_SB is a chipset Gen4 link. Do not assign x4 bandwidth to the second CPU socket by inference.
Prove the complete platform
Find the exact processor in this board’s CPU support list and compare its required BIOS with the installed version. Then check the exact memory kit, occupied slots and front-panel connectors. A matching socket or a published maximum memory capacity is only part of that check.
Published specifications
AM5; B650; ATX 305 x 244 mm; four DDR5 slots, up to 256 GB; three M.2 slots; four SATA 6Gb/s ports.

| Storage slot M2P_CPU | M.2 22110, M.2 2280; PCIe NVMe; PCIe 4 x2; PCIe 4.0 x2, including Ryzen 7000/9000 and Ryzen 8000 Phoenix 1/2; do not assume x4 bandwidth. |
| Storage slot M2C_SB | M.2 22110, M.2 2280; PCIe NVMe; PCIe 4 x4; Chipset-connected PCIe 4.0 x4/x2. |
These specifications apply to rev. 1.0/1.1, not rev. 1.2. M2P_CPU has only two PCIe lanes. PCIEX1_1 and PCIEX1_2 are unavailable with a Ryzen 8000 Phoenix 2 CPU. Exact CPU BIOS support and RAM QVL must be checked. SATA drives require suitable case bays and cables.
