MSI MAG B650 TOMAHAWK WIFI
A drive-heavy AM5 tower with useful wired and wireless networking
The MAG B650 TOMAHAWK WIFI offers three PCIe 4.0 M.2 positions and six SATA ports alongside Wi-Fi 6E and 2.5 Gb Ethernet. That makes storage layout a better reason to consider it than expecting the board to generate extra frame rate. Inventory every drive and expansion card before paying for the additional connections, because some resources remain conditional.
Consider it when
- A full-size AM5 machine retaining several SATA drives and adding NVMe storage.
Look again when
- You only need one SSD and would benefit more from a simpler board.
The checks that can change your choice
Check both CPU and expansion-card effects
M2_2 is unavailable with Ryzen 8500/8300 processors. M2_3 runs at x2 when PCI_E2 is populated. A three-drive list therefore needs the processor and any add-in cards specified before treating all three M.2 links as equivalent.
Prove the complete platform
Find the exact processor in this board’s CPU support list and compare its required BIOS with the installed version. Then check the exact memory kit, occupied slots and front-panel connectors. A matching socket or a published maximum memory capacity is only part of that check.

Check the manufacturer CPU support list and installed BIOS version before buying. Matching socket and DDR generation do not prove CPU support, memory-profile stability, power-delivery suitability, or PCIe/M.2 lane availability.
