SAPPHIRE PULSE Radeon RX 9070 16GB
The non-XT 9070 offers a different size and power balance from the larger XT board.
The PULSE RX 9070 is worth comparing when a 16 GB Radeon fits your software and the non-XT board makes the system easier to house and cool. Decide between it and the XT using actual workload evidence and the complete upgrade cost.
Consider it when
- A graphics-focused build seeking 16 GB memory without adopting the XT model’s larger physical envelope.
- A suitable existing PSU with the required pair of PCIe 8-pin connections.
Look again when
- A task where the XT’s measured advantage is worth its additional system requirements, or software without confirmed Radeon support.
THE SPACE IT NEEDS
Make room for the whole card
- Card length
- 280mm
Compare length with the space left after front fans, radiators and drive cages. Card thickness and power-cable clearance are separate checks.

The checks that can change your choice
Do not copy the XT fit result
The non-XT card measures 280 × 120.25 × 51.5 mm and lists 220 W typical board power. The PULSE XT is longer, thicker and higher-powered, so it needs a separate compatibility review.
Keep PSU recommendation separate from card power
SAPPHIRE recommends at least 650 W for the system with this board. Review CPU demand, PSU quality, age and approved cable arrangement rather than treating 220 W as the total build load.
Published specifications
16 GB GDDR6; 280 × 120.25 × 51.5 mm; 220 W typical board power; minimum 650 W PSU; 2 × 8-pin.
