beyerdynamic DT 770 PRO (80 ohms)

The original 80-ohm closed-back version for a fixed listening or recording desk.

The decision

DT 770 PRO 80 ohms is a specific variant with a 3 m straight cable. It is worth considering when a closed-back headphone and a long desk cable suit the setup, with a separate microphone if needed. The 32-ohm, 250-ohm, PRO X and M models are different choices; their characteristics should not be transferred here.

Consider it when

  • A suitable headphone output and space to manage the long cable.
  • A user who wants separate headphones and microphone equipment.

Look again when

  • A requirement for wireless use or an integrated headset microphone.
  • Choosing an output device using impedance alone as the deciding rule.

The checks that can change your choice

Confirm the 80-ohm label

Match both the original DT 770 PRO name and the impedance version. Check the actual output for sufficient comfortable level; impedance does not establish sensitivity, maximum volume or sound quality on its own.

Manage the 3 m straight cable

Leave enough slack for movement without looping excess cable where the chair can catch it. The 6.35 mm adapter changes connector size for a suitable output; it does not supply amplification or microphone functionality.

Before connectingUse a suitable headphone output; impedance alone does not establish listening volume.

Original DT 770 PRO 80-ohm version, not the 32-ohm, 250-ohm, PRO X or DT 770 M. Voice chat needs a separate microphone. Connect to a suitable headphone output; impedance alone does not establish available listening volume.
