Sennheiser HD 560S

Open-back listening headphones for a quiet space where sound leakage is acceptable.

The decision

HD 560S is a deliberate listening choice rather than an all-in-one headset. The open-back design makes the surrounding room part of the decision: consider nearby people and background noise before selecting it for a shared desk. Its 120-ohm impedance is not a sound-quality score or enough information to prescribe an amplifier by itself.

Consider it when

  • A quiet listening space and a suitable headphone output.
  • A user who already has a separate microphone for calls or games.

Look again when

  • A noisy shared room where isolation is a priority.
  • Expecting a microphone in the supplied stereo cable.

The checks that can change your choice

Check the actual source at a useful level

Confirm comfortable listening volume and headroom with your intended output. If it is inadequate, assess the output and headphone requirements together; do not buy an amplifier solely because the impedance number looks high.

Inspect the retail cable revision

Supplied cable lengths and adapters can vary with the retail revision. Confirm the connector needed by your source and how the detachable cable will route across the desk before ordering extra accessories.

Stereo listening headphones without a headset microphone; voice chat needs a separate microphone. Use a suitable headphone output. Check the supplied cable and adapter for the retail revision; this entry does not assume every PC output drives them equally.
