Corsair HS80 MAX WIRELESS

A wireless headset for a user who wants flip-to-mute and accepts a permanent boom.

The decision

HS80 MAX WIRELESS combines a USB-A transmitter path with Bluetooth and a flip-to-mute microphone. It is worth considering when those controls suit daily use, but the boom is not detachable. Keep the MAX model separate from HS80 RGB WIRELESS and the Xbox edition when comparing compatibility or software features.

Consider it when

  • A supported PC with an available USB-A port for the transmitter.
  • A user who prefers a visible flip-to-mute action over removing the microphone.

Look again when

  • A requirement to detach the boom for travel or casual listening.
  • Expecting PC-specific SoundID features through an arbitrary Bluetooth source.

The checks that can change your choice

SoundID has a specific setup

The documented SoundID path requires iCUE and the USB wireless receiver. Confirm the supported software environment and connection before choosing the headset specifically for that feature.

Check the mode after switching devices

Bluetooth media use and the PC transmitter route require deliberate mode selection. Verify playback and recording devices in the application, then test that raising the microphone produces the intended mute behaviour.
