SteelSeries Arctis Nova 5 Wireless

A receiver-or-Bluetooth headset whose QuickSwitch alternates sources instead of mixing them.

The decision

The standard Arctis Nova 5 Wireless suits someone who wants a retractable microphone and a USB-C wireless dongle that can also connect through the supplied USB-A adapter cable. Check platform support for the standard model; Nova 5X and 5P are separate variants with different intended host combinations.

Consider it when

  • A supported PC with USB-C or a suitable USB-A connection.
  • A user who wants to switch between dongle audio and a Bluetooth device.

Look again when

  • Expecting both sources to play together through QuickSwitch.
  • Buying a different Nova 5 suffix while relying on this model’s compatibility notes.

The checks that can change your choice

Leave space around the dongle

A direct USB-C connection must fit beside neighbouring ports. Use the supplied USB-C-to-USB-A adapter cable where appropriate, and keep the receiver positioned sensibly for the desk rather than forcing a cramped connection.

Extend the microphone before testing

The retractable boom needs to be deployed and positioned for voice use. After changing modes, check the selected recording device and mute status; successful headphone playback does not establish that the application is using this microphone.
