Creative Pebble V3 (MF1700)

A small speaker pair that can take USB audio, but always needs a power connection.

The decision

Pebble V3 fits a desk that wants a compact pair beside the monitor and straightforward computer audio. USB-C can provide both audio and power, while Bluetooth or AUX changes only the audio route. Decide how the speakers will receive power before choosing an input, especially when relying on an older or low-power USB port.

Consider it when

  • A small desktop with a suitable USB supply and accessible audio controls.
  • A PC using USB audio, with Bluetooth available for a supported secondary source.

Look again when

  • A plan to run the speakers on Bluetooth without any USB power.
  • Expecting the maximum stated output from an inadequate USB port.

The checks that can change your choice

The 8 W RMS mode has conditions

Creative specifies high gain and a 10 W, 5 V/2 A power source for the maximum 8 W RMS output. This describes speaker output, not the power consumed by the PC or a measured loudness guarantee.

Check the missing accessories

The power adapter and AUX cable are not included. Confirm what your selected connection needs and distinguish V3 from V2, Pro and X before borrowing their power or input instructions.

Pebble V3, not V2, Pro or X. USB power is required even with Bluetooth or AUX audio. The stated maximum 8 W RMS output requires high gain and a 10 W / 5 V 2 A USB power source; this is speaker output, not PC power consumption. AUX cable and power adapter are not included.
