Edifier MR3

A small powered pair combining Bluetooth convenience with analog interface connections.

The decision

MR3 is useful for a desk that alternates between ordinary PC listening and an analog audio interface. It offers Bluetooth as well as balanced TRS, RCA and AUX routes, but not a documented USB-audio input. Choose it for the connections and placement you need; the monitor label is not a substitute for checking sound in your own room.

Consider it when

  • A PC or interface with one of the documented analog outputs.
  • A user who also wants a compatible Bluetooth source without adding a receiver.

Look again when

  • Expecting USB-C audio from a similarly equipped speaker model.
  • Assuming MR3 and MR4 share the same connections or dimensions.

The checks that can change your choice

Use balanced TRS only with a suitable source

A balanced audio interface can make use of the 6.35 mm inputs. Ordinary PC headphone audio should use a suitable AUX or RCA connection; changing plug size alone does not create a balanced signal.

Keep the pair correctly linked

Mains power goes to the active speaker, and the passive speaker needs its wired connection. Plan both speaker positions and keep the front headphone output accessible rather than hiding the controls behind the display.

Published specifications
