HyperX Cloud Alpha Wireless

A PC wireless headset built around its USB adapter rather than Bluetooth versatility.

The decision

The original Cloud Alpha Wireless suits a desk where the supplied USB wireless adapter is the main audio route. Its detachable boom covers voice use without adding a separate desk microphone. Keep the original model distinct from Cloud Alpha 2 Wireless and the wired Cloud Alpha when checking features, cables and battery expectations.

Consider it when

  • A compatible PC with a USB port reserved for the wireless adapter.
  • A user who wants a dedicated wireless headset primarily for one desk.

Look again when

  • A Bluetooth pairing requirement for a phone or tablet.
  • Expecting the charging cable to provide wired USB audio.

The checks that can change your choice

The USB cable is for charging

Audio uses the supplied wireless adapter. Check that it is present, especially in a used package; a generic Bluetooth adapter is not a replacement, and Bluetooth is not a documented connection for this model.

Test microphone and battery routines

Seat the detachable boom correctly, confirm the recording device and practise charging before the first long session. Advertised maximum battery life depends on use and should not replace a practical charging plan.
