Logitech Z407
A 2.1 desk system with a wireless control dial, not wireless speaker-to-speaker links.
Z407 is worth considering when you want the volume control within reach even if the speakers and subwoofer sit farther away. The satellites can be placed vertically or horizontally, which helps around a crowded monitor stand. Keep the distinction between wireless control, Bluetooth input and the wired speaker connections clear when planning the setup.
Consider it when
- A fixed desk with space for the subwoofer and an electrical outlet.
- A user who wants an accessible separate control dial.
Look again when
- Expecting the satellites to communicate wirelessly with the subwoofer.
- A USB-audio setup without the required Micro-USB data cable.
The checks that can change your choice
The USB audio cable is separate
Direct computer audio uses Micro-USB, not the USB-C connector used by several other desktop systems. The data cable is not included; make sure the chosen cable carries data rather than only charging power.
Plan the dial’s power and behaviour
The wireless dial uses two AAA batteries and switches between sources. It should not be treated as a promise of simultaneous mixing; test the selected source and keep spare batteries available for routine use.
