Razer BlackShark V2 X (3.5 mm)

The analog BlackShark V2 X for a simple wired headset connection.

The decision

This BlackShark V2 X uses 3.5 mm audio and a boom microphone. It is a practical shortlist option when the computer or controller provides a compatible headset connection. The USB edition is a different product, so decide the signal path before comparing prices or assuming that USB processing is included.

Consider it when

  • A compatible headset jack and a user who accepts wired listening.
  • A desktop where the correct audio/microphone splitter can be used if needed.

Look again when

  • A USB-only host without a suitable adapter.
  • A purchase expecting features from the similarly named USB model.

The checks that can change your choice

Check both halves of the analog connection

A desktop with separate headphone and mic sockets needs the appropriate splitter. Hearing sound is not proof that the microphone is connected; verify the recording input and mute state as a separate step.

Place the boom for the actual call

Position the microphone as directed and test it in the voice application you use. Driver diameter and a cardioid description are not measurements of speech clarity in your room, so check the resulting recording before judging it.
